Background screening remains a hot issue in the news today and in the government. The new EEOC guidelines were not taken well with Congress and they quickly took action to ensure the EEOC could not finance any type of enforcement of its new guidelines. It appears that the layout provided by the EEOC set out to reduce unethical, unfair, racism and other forms of discrimination would in fact cause discrimination and make it even more difficult for minorities like black men to get a job in the USA. The debate will continue, but one thing is sure, US companies have a right to protect themselves and their employees from preventable threats.
